We debated long and hard about having "Events" and "News" be the same section. The thing is, some people just don't care about the news and if we put events in the same section, they would never hear about some of the cool activities that they could be a part of - that they will WANT to be a part of.

For example, when authors publish a new book, they (almost) always go on book tours to promote their work. Some of them will be stopping by WeWhoWander.com (abstractly, electronically, with a keyboard and mouse). You, the Wanderers, will have the opportunity to take part in special chats with these world-renowned wordsmiths.

Another example: let's say that a few of you got together and started a book club dedicated to Herman Melville (<snore>). Well, see, that would be news. BUT, if that club got Herman Melville's great-great-granddaughter to come online and tell nasty little tidbits about his inspiration for Moby Dick, now that would be an event!

Disclaimer: We are sure that Herman Melville's inspiration for Moby Dick is well-documented and that there are no "nasty, little tidbits" to be had. So, if Mr. Melville does have a great-great-granddaughter out there, we want her to know that we love Moby Dick: we started reading it every night and haven't had insomnia since!
